true...but the idea with avatars was, was we created another us. this us was meant to be the perfect us. not what we looked like but rather someone we wished we look like. my avatar doesn't look like me. i tried to make it to look like me, but i couldn't because of the limited choices. even if i did have the choices, i admit that i wouldn't make my avatar with glasses lol. we could have more choices. but how many people would willingly make themselves fat and old? true the ones that think it is funny would. but if the person is fat and old, i doubt they would want their avatar to be as well. not because they are ashamed. just because they want to be someone else for a change. how many people would talk to someone who looks dangerous? you might be suprised that the person who looks dangerous is the one who you talk to online about all your problems. looks are just too big a thing these days. so i just smile =D

Look for a funny similar picture and download it. You don't have to stick to the bog standard avatars! Take me for instance, aren't I just the bee's knees? :))

Mine looks like I've lost my mum'n'dad in a busy shopping area. And I wish I had a hat like that. Actually I'm 104, 105 next month. You look OK, stop worrying. Time flies!

Seriously, I agree with you. They should have more choices in the create avatar section. My one did look like me when I was 18 and had a perfect figure. But that was 20 years ago!!

Best thing for you to do is invent your own avatar like for instance draw a picture or paint if you can or even use photograph of yourself like i did. I look the way i chose to look. Go fo it girl!!!
