Why isn't beard color as consistent in some people as the color of the hair on their head? My beard is a mix of brown, probably black, orangish-copper red something, and grey/silver. Why is that? What's the biology behind it?

as you get older your facial hair changes colors and it just might be different colors its not a bad thing....do you have natural highlights the same color as the color of your beard? that might be why but there are many causes.
