Polite Audience

Grey smoke layers

An hour閳ユ獨 worth of anxious cigarettes

The music goes down and the lights go up

As the comic takes the stage

Tugs on his shirt tail

Sweeps back the hair from his eyes

Snorts into the mic for a check

閳ヮ毊e sure looks funny

Staggers around the stage

The satirist bellows, enraged

Politics and the Pope, 閳ユ窌et me a rope!閳?br> But really, not many jokes

Two sets of comical outrage

And bits of food thrown from the stage

I wanted to laugh once or twice

Like a humorous monkey encaged

Nice poem and i like how the comic comes on stage with all the smoke and how you explain it all the way.I can almost see the smoke and see the comic as he hits the mic for sound check.......Great as always
