Why is my grey hair so different in texture compared to my other hair?

My grey hair is growing in curly and very rough. Almost like wire. Will it eventually soften up and go straight?

Grey is always more coarse than your old hair, when the greys get longer they might lay down better, but no sorry this is how they will all feel and look. Aging is cruel!
